Mohammad Jewel Mia, BSc
Research Fellow & MS Student
Mr. Mohammad Jewel Mia received his BSc degree from the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, University of Chittagong. Now he is studying in the same department for his M.Sc degree which is expected to be completed by 2021. Because of his great ambition to become a researcher, he started his research carrier at Laboratory of Eukaryotic Gene Expression and Function, BMB, CU even before receiving his B.Sc degree. At EuGEF he first learned the basic molecular biology techniques like DNA/RNA isolation, cDNA synthesis, PCR and Gel Electrophoresis. Gradually he was involved in various projects by the Lab. Recently he is involved in a project to develop a Novel Point of Care tests for diagnosing SARS-CoV-2 Coronavirus.
Mohammad Jewel Mia is very much hopeful that he can complete his MS thesis project in which he is going to understand the expression pattern of miR-424 in breast cancer under the supervision of Dr. MM Hossain. He has been given this project to evaluate the expression pattern of miR-424 in patients with progressive breast cancer and compare the expression pattern in subtypes of breast cancer among the Bangladeshi patients.
In his personal life outside the Lab, he loves travelling various tourist spots with his friends to enjoy the esthetical beauty of nature. He also likes reading books of various categories. To unroll the hideout of life sciences, he often likes to run into various research articles.
