Ms. Tasmiah Tahera Aziz had completed her Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, University of Chittagong, Bangladesh. The initiation of her research career was in September 2014 at Laboratory of Eukaryotic Gene Expression and Function, BMB, CU. At EuGEF she was involved in the “Scenario of birth defects in Bangladesh” project under the supervision of Dr. ASM Noman.
Currently she is working at Chittagong Research Institute for Children Surgery (CRICS) as Executive Secretary & Research Associate. Her current research focus is on Pediatric diseases and she aims to do further work on genetic predisposition of diseases. She has been conducting Epidemiological and Genetic research on Birth Defects and Cancer since the inception of her research career. She has helped organize Birth Defect Screening Projects in Hospitals (Tertiary and Rural), School Health Screening Programs and Birth Defect Screening in Slum & Underprivileged Children. She has also been part of Cancer Mapping Project in Chittagong, Bangladesh. With child protection and welfare as a motto, she also works on creating awareness about diseases and prevention.
Outside professional life she likes to spend her time with family and friends. Her hobby is travelling.
