Jannatul Ferdous Pushpo accomplished her B.Sc. and M.S. degree from the Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology, University of Chittagong, Bangladesh. Since the completion of her graduation, she has been engaged in research with Laboratory of Eukaryotic Gene Expression and Function (EuGEF), where she focused on the molecular basis of breast cancer with epidemiological studies and possible therapeutic approaches.

Currently, she is working as a Research Officer at Mucosal Immunology and Vaccinology Laboratory in International Center for Diarrheal Disease Research, Bangladesh (icddr,b) since 2016. Her research focuses on identifying potential risk factors associated with V cholerae O1, particularly in areas of Bangladesh where the dearth of pure water and poor sanitation are predominant. Moreover, she is involved in several vaccine trial projects that evaluate the immune responses against Vibrio cholerae, and develop effective therapeutic interventions such as vaccines. At present, her contribution in the different projects related to COVID-19 pandemic is noteworthy, such as playing a significant role in the assessment of immune responses against SARS-CoV-2.

In her leisure time, she enjoys reading books, gardening and spending time with her family.
