MD. Ejajur Rahman Himu, BSc
Research Fellow & MS Student
MD. Ejajur Rahman Himu has completed his four years of undergraduate courses major in Biochemistry & Molecular Biology from University of Chittagong, Bangladesh & is currently pursuing her Master’s Degree from same department. During this running courses, he has found interest in the molecular mechanisms that define cancer cells and how these can be exploited therapeutically. His motivation for being a cancer researcher led her to start his research career at Laboratory of Eukaryotic Gene Expression and Function, CU in April 2019, prior to receiving his BSc degree. Soon he got opportunities to learn the basic molecular biology techniques and was gradually involved in various cancer related projects provided by the Lab. Under the supervision of Sir Srikanta Chowdhury, MD. Ejajur Rahman Himu is very much expectant to complete his thesis project focusing on "Analysis of expressional correlation between Sonic Hedgehog (SHH) and Methyltransferase Like 3 (METTL3) gene in Breast cancer patients". He is hopeful that his project will contribute to establish a fine correlation between disease diagnosis and various treatment options.
Along with his lab activities he participated in several Journal Club presentations on numerous topics such as Immunology, Neuroscience, Oncology, Developmental Biology. He also participated in TCGA Conference on December 3-5, 2020 & multiple Covid-19 workshops.
